Busting someone up in a bar fight is a matter of having the brawn to deliver the hits, and the endurance to take them.

The ability to hit people with your bare hands or fists-related weapons in combat.

This skill determines how likely you are to hit someone in combat when you're not wielding any weapon. It will also affect the hit and damage of fists-related weaponry.

Why Fists?

The Fists class uses Brawn and Endurance. Characterized by excellent speed, hit, damage, and overall being extremely reliable, Fists are a popular weapon class in HellMOO. Initially, every character will have no weapon and only his or her bare fists. However, as you progress you will find weapons such as the Knuckle Buster to get you started, and can work your way up to Tesla Gauntlets, which pack a deadly electric punch, and Jawbreakers, the weapon of choice for a high end Fists user! The advantages of Fists are manifold, such as:

  • Speed - Fists are a fast weapon class, for the most part. Add in the fact you can dual wield many Fists weapons to fight even faster, and you can bury your opponent in a flurry of punches before they can fight back. Fists users are no joke in this department- dual Jawbreakers is enough to make many players cringe.
  • Ease of use - From your bare knuckles to Jawbreakers, fists are a weapon class that is easy to get weaponry for. Many other weapon classes can get tedious in acquisition, but fists generally have weapons that are easy to find and buy.
  • Variety - Fists users are pretty easy to build, for the most part, and make an excellent character to learn the game with on your first way around. All four lifestyle mutations (Vampire, Zombie, Hideous Freak, Abomination) can make a good fists user, allowing the player to choose how they'd like to play.
  • Excellent Damage - Fists deal a good deal of damage. Jawbreakers deal copious amounts of beat damage in addition to stun, while Tesla and Edison Gauntlets deal large amounts of electric, a very difficult to soak damage type.
  • High Hit - As a general rule of thumb, fists all have excellent hit, making them harder to dodge. This is very useful, especially in PvE - nobody likes whiffing an attack.
  • One Handed - Most fists weapons are one handed, meaning you can dual wield them for more speed and damage, or use one and have a hand free for using Trauma Kits and Nanite Healers mid-fight.

Disadvantages

The fists class, while being excellent, have a few shortcomings. The first is parry class - fists only have one weapon above PC 1. For those who do not know what parry class is: let's say you are wielding Jawbreakers, which have a Parry Class of 0, while your opponent is wielding a pair of Tesla Gauntlets, which have a parry class of 1. The Tesla Gauntlets user can parry you, but you will rely solely on Dodge to avoid the Tesla Gauntlets user. Parry classes go up to 2, and weapons can only parry weapons of their class or lower. Because of this, fist fighters primarily rely on their speed and strength to quickly end a fight before it drags on. The second is that fists have a lack of weapons, somewhat, in regards to variety. The high end is completed dominated by the Jawbreaker, while there practically are no middle end weapons. Expect to be using those Knuckle Busters for awhile.

Weapons

Some fists weapons are:

  • Fists - The first weapon everyone starts out with. Unless you get the Ripper mutation, you will always have this unless you are holding an actual weapon. With low damage and medium speed, it is decent for a newbie to use until they progress to Crackheads.
  • Powerglove - A weapon that deals small beat and slash damage. When broken, however, it deals the tiniest fraction of damage, making it useful for grinding Fists if you are so inclined. Can be purchased from Commander Andy's novelty shop.
  • Knuckle Buster - The first fists weapon that many players will encounter. The Knuckle Buster deals beat damage and is very fast, making it useful for the beginning of the game. One handed, making it very useful for fighting and using Nanite Healers early on. Dual wielding Knuckle Busters is a good way to tackle the early game until you can find a better weapon. Check Ammu-Nation for these - Walter frequently has them in stock.
  • Uru Pounders - A rare weapon that deals Beat damage. Because of it's fairly low damage, requiring two hands for use, and only average speed, it is considered by many to be one of the worst Fists weapons. These problems are compounded by its relative rarity. It will do in a pinch, however, when you have nothing else available.
  • Ripper Claws - You can get Ripper claws by obtaining the Ripper mutation. Dealing medium amounts of slash damage, Ripper Claws are fairly fast and can cause bleeding, unlike many other fists weapons. These will replace your natural fists, meaning you can use Nanite Healers while fighting with them. Useful in a pinch, and also serving as a blade for butchering corpses, Ripper Claws are mostly obtained by those seeking the path of an Abomination.
  • Zombie Claws - You can get Zombie claws by obtaining the Zombie mutation. A slow weapon that deals slash damage, it is generally a last resort. However, it has the interesting property of giving Zombie Rot to the things it hits, making it an amusing griefing tool. These can be overridden by getting the Zombie mutation and then the Ripper mutation, something many players do.
  • Chud Claws - You can get Chud claws and fangs by obtaining the Chud mutation. They are faster than zombie claws, but do the same amount of damage. A slashing weapon, they're not very useful compared to the more high-end fists weapons. On the plus side, they're better than a puny topsider's hands. Also similar to zombie claws, Chud claws have a chance to inflict whoever they hit with any diseases the Chuds may have. So, you're a chud about to die from AIDS? No better time to grief.
  • Jawbreakers - Jawbreakers are the PvP and high end weapon of choice for many fists users. They deal high amounts of beat damage at a very quick speed, and have a high chance of stunning on any hit, leaving the opponent helpless as you beat the stuffing out of them. They are a one-handed weapon; dual wielding them is recommended for maximum effect. Try Pegleg Pete's to buy them.
  • Telsa Gauntlets - Tesla Gauntlets are a strange weapon among fists. For one, they primarily deal high amounts of electric damage instead of the usual beat. They still have a decently sized beat add-on however. Furthermore, while most fists weapons scale on brawn, Tesla Gauntlets scale on skill in fists, making them a lower-brawn alternative. Unlike many other Fists weapons, Tesla Gauntlets have Parry Class 1, and are somewhat slow in speed. They are craft only, but can be purchased from many players.
  • Edison Gauntlets - Edison Gauntlets are an alternative version of Tesla Gauntlets that are even slower, but deal more beat damage and can deal just as much electric. Rare, and craft only, but an interesting weapon nonetheless that packs a serious punch.
  • Abomination Claws - When a player takes Abomination, their Ripper claws will upgrade into Abomination Claws. These new claws deal even more slash damage, a higher Stab damage add-on, and additional radiation damage. They are fast and deal a good amount of damage, and an abomination will always spawn with them.
  • Chunk of Brick - A slow weapon with good hit that deals low amounts of beat damage. Can be found pretty much anywhere in freedom city or slagtown by using search - you're better off using Knuckle Busters.
  • Pata Gauntlets - The only fist weapon that is PC **. They are rather quick and deal huge amounts of slash and some stab. On par with the tesla gauntlet for PVE but not too useful in PVP due to leech-hide being a common armor and soaking the low end of the pata's damage.
