Inventory Management
So, you've slain the orphans, ground the crackheads into pulp, and search-ed to your heart's content. Look at all that sweet-ass loot! But what the hell do you do with it all, now that you have 400 items in your inventory and you can't pick up one more guitar pick or handful of brass rounds?
Basic Commands
First of all, let's make sure you know how to use your inventory. If you've made it this far, you probably already know how to use the inventory command, (inv or I for the terminally lazy. When you do this, it should pull up your vast and impressive inventory of text items, like so:
- Weapons
- a taped garden weasel [1kg] a butcher knife [400g]
- Clothing
- a pair of cowboy boots (worn) [455g] a lotus mogami-do (worn) [400g]
- a pair of lotus kote (worn) [300g] a hockey mask (worn) [175g]
- a tin badge (worn) [400g] a pair of earplugs [5g]
- a lotus kabuto (worn) [400g] a pair of lotus kogake tebukuro (worn) [400g]
- a pair of kevlar pants (worn) [875g] a pair of disposable latex gloves [800g]
- Medical
- a medium trauma kit [650g] a single-use trauma kit [65g]
- Consumables
- lots of rocks of crank [17g]
- Containers
- a rigid-frame backpack [690g] a kidney cooler [2kg]
- Misc

This will show you everything in your "top level" inventory, that is, things that aren't inside a container. It will also show you what pieces of Clothing you are wearing, with the (worn) tag, and which Weapons, if any, you have wielded, with a similar tag. You will see the weight of each item, and your total inventory weight. Your total weight scales with the Brawn stat.
One important thing to note is that there are several sub-headings for the inventory, like Weapons, Clothing, etc. One that you'll be seeing a lot of is Artifacts.
Artifacts are basically loot. Lunchboxes, trading cards, starfish, and lengths of rusty razor ribbon are all artifacts. Chemicals count as Artifacts when you are doing things to all artifact, such as get all artifact or put all artifact in frame pack. This is something you may even want to set up an alias for, if your client allows it.
You can drastically cut down on the weight and bulk of items by keeping them in Containers, such as the omnipresent frame pack (available at Eschaton Outfitters or even a lowly trash bag. Artifacts in particular should always be kept in a container both to cut down on clutter and weight, and to make selling easy.
