HellMOO's inventory system can feel a little clumsy sometimes, but with a little practice, it's very manageable.
So, you've slain the [[orphans]], ground the [[crackheads]] into pulp, and [[search]]-ed to your heart's content. Look at all that sweet-ass loot! But what the hell do you do with it all, now that you have 400 items in your inventory and you can't pick up one more guitar pick or handful of brass rounds?

Either way, this listing of your inventory only shows stuff on your immediate person. Stuff you're carrying in bags is not shown, you must {{cmd|l bag}} if you want to see inside a bag. At the bottom of the listing is the total encumbrance of your character - in this case, the character is carrying 7.7kg out of a possible 48.0kg. If you carry more than your max capacity, you can't move. If you carry more than half your max capacity, your movement will be slowed, you'll have difficulty swimming, and you'll tire out your muscles. Try to avoid carrying more than you need to. Weight capacity scales with [[Brawn]], and is also buffed by [[Mule]].


This will show you everything in your "top level" inventory, that is, things that aren't inside a container. It will also show you what pieces of '''Clothing''' you are wearing, with the (worn) tag, and which '''Weapons''', if any, you have wielded, with a similar tag. You will see the weight of each item, and your total inventory weight. Your total weight scales with the [[Brawn]] stat, and can also be increased with the Mule [[mutation]].
There are also various categories listed. Most of them are self-explanatory, but "Artifacts", refers to a huge variety of drops you can get from scavenging, butchering mobs, and picking up random stuff. You can drastically cut down on the weight and bulk of items by keeping them in '''Containers''', such as the omnipresent [[frame pack]] (available at [[Eschaton Outfitters]]) or even a lowly [[trash bag]]. Artifacts in particular should always be kept in a container both to cut down on clutter and weight, and to make selling easy. If you fill up a container, say, a [[duffle bag]], full of '''Artifacts''', then go to [[Salvage Unlimited]] and {{cmd|sell duffle bag}}, Avram will take the bag, buy everything he can in one transaction, then hand back the bag with whatever he didn't want still in it. Nifty, huh?

This even works for items outside of your immediate inventory, such as a [[Donation bin]]. You could {{cmd|open bin}} then {{cmd|get all clothing from bin}} to get only the clothing from the bin, and nothing else.
If you want to get many things, {{cmd|get all <x>}} may prove useful. This will {{cmd|get}} all of the items that match the text you add, so do pay attention. If you {{cmd|get all h}}, you'll pick up a ton of useless heads as well as that 12mm Hammerhead.
