The ability to hit people with your bare hands or fists-related weapons in combat.
This skill governs the accuracy and damage of your attacks with your fists or fists-related weaponry.

This skill determines how likely you are to hit someone in combat when you're not wielding any weapon. It will also affect the hit and damage of fists-related weaponry.
Advantages
Why Fists?
*Speed - Mosts fist weapons are either fast or very fast. Some can be dual-wielded; double jawbreakers can bury opponents in a flurry of punches before they can fight back.
The Fists class uses Brawn and Endurance. Characterized by excellent speed, hit, damage, and overall being extremely reliable, Fists are a popular weapon class in HellMOO. Initially, every character will have no weapon and only his or her bare fists. However, as you progress you will find weapons such as the Knuckle Buster to get you started, and can work your way up to Tesla Gauntlets, which pack a deadly electric punch, and Jawbreakers, the weapon of choice for a high end Fists user! The advantages of Fists are manifold, such as:

*Speed - Fists are a fast weapon class, for the most part. Add in the fact you can dual wield many Fists weapons to fight even faster, and you can bury your opponent in a flurry of punches before they can fight back. Fists users are no joke in this department- dual Jawbreakers is enough to make many players cringe.
*Ease of acquisition - Even the most labor-intensive crafting for fists weapons is pretty straightforward. Knuckle Busters and Jawbreakers are your bread and butter, and both are bought for cheap in NPC stores. Jawbreakers don't even need modding to be effective.

*Ease of use - From your bare knuckles to Jawbreakers, fists are a weapon class that is easy to get weaponry for. Many other weapon classes can get tedious in acquisition, but fists generally have weapons that are easy to find and buy.
*Ease of Use - If you can wrap your head around the concept of maxing Endurance, Brawn and Reflexes, you can make a good fists class. All three of these stats also have good utility; a newbie playing fists will be able to climb cliffs easily.

*Variety - Fists users are pretty easy to build, for the most part, and make an excellent character to learn the game with on your first way around. All four lifestyle mutations (Vampire, Zombie, Hideous Freak, Abomination) can make a good fists user, allowing the player to choose how they'd like to play.
*Mutation Flexibility - Most racial mutations can work in a fists class. See the section on Racials for more details.

*Excellent Damage - Fists deal a good deal of damage. Jawbreakers deal copious amounts of beat damage in addition to stun, Pata gauntlets deal more slash than a shiver and Tesla and Edison Gauntlets deal large amounts of electric, a very difficult to soak damage type.
*Excellent Top-end Damage - Jawbreakers deal copious amounts of beat damage in addition to stun, Pata deal more slash than a shiver sword and Tesla/Edison Gauntlets deal large amounts of electric, a very difficult to soak damage type.

*High Hit - As a general rule of thumb, fists all have excellent hit, making them harder to dodge. This is very useful, especially in PvE - nobody likes whiffing an attack.
*Accuracy - Most fist weapons have very good to-hit. You'll rarely miss in PvE, and as long as you pick your battles carefully in PvP, you'll smack most non-gunners just fine.

*One Handed - Most fists weapons are one handed, meaning you can dual wield them for more speed and damage, or use one and have a hand free for using Trauma Kits and Nanite Healers mid-fight.
*Parry Class Coverage - Jawbies and knuckle busters cover PC0, Edisons are PC1, and Pata are PC2. Fists is the only class in the game that can boast a viable endgame weapon in all three parry classes aside from Whips. Fisters can make almost any non-gunner fight on their terms with this flexibility.

*Grabbing Synergy - Jawbreakers and knuckle busters are one-handed and fisters have good wrestle, which means that fisters can grab people with their off-hand and beat them up while keeping themselves out of danger. This doesn't work with the 2-handed fists weapons.

Disadvantages
Disadvantages
The fists class, while being excellent, have a few shortcomings. The first is parry class - fists only have one weapon above PC 1. For those who do not know what parry class is: let's say you are wielding Jawbreakers, which have a Parry Class of 0, while your opponent is wielding a pair of Tesla Gauntlets, which have a parry class of 1. The Tesla Gauntlets user can parry you, but you will rely solely on Dodge to avoid the Tesla Gauntlets user. Parry classes go up to 2, and weapons can only parry weapons of their class or lower.  Because of this, fist fighters primarily rely on their speed and strength to quickly end a fight before it drags on. The second is that fists have a lack of weapons, somewhat, in regards to variety. Expect to be using those Knuckle Busters for awhile.
Weapons
Some fists weapons are:
*Weapon Variety - Fists does not have a wide weapon pool. The big three are jawbreakers, edisons and pata, while knuckle busters and abom claws get honorable mention. There are few other weapons, and they (Uru pounders, for instance) are all trash.
* Fists - The first weapon everyone starts out with. Unless you get the Ripper mutation, you will always have this unless you are holding an actual weapon. With low damage and medium speed, it is decent for a newbie to use until they progress to Crackheads.

*Damage Options - Fisters have the choice of beat, slash and shock. This is usually enough, but there's no exotic damage types like acid and bleed.

*Vulnerable to dodge - Fists has no real answer to high dodge outside of gaming parry classes. Hooligan is a nice idea but it's inconsistent, slow and laughably easy to counter. If a fister is not careful to engage a high-dodge opponent with a PC that's the same or lower than theirs, they'll struggle to land a shot unless they can stun and get a grab.

*Vulnerable to parry - Spears can stall out fisters with their parry bonus, and if you don't bring pata, you'll be stuck trying to dodge their hits with your terrible dodge skill.

*Damage roulette - Most fists weapons have extremely wide damage ranges, which makes them less consistent than other classes. Top-end damage is fun, but it means little when your jawbreakers bounce off someone's triple leather armor three times in a row.

Notable Weapons
* Fists - You will always have these unless you are holding an actual weapon (or you have claws). Damage is buffed by taking the Lithodermis mutation.

* Claws - Ripper claws are uninteresting but the mutation gives +1 fists. Zombie claws are very slow but scale well with brawn. Chud claws can spread diseases the chud is infected with. Abomination claws (and fangs) are fast, scale excellently with brawn and get good to-hit. They also do exotic irradiation damage.

* Knuckle Buster - Cheap from Ammu-Nation. Deals good beat damage at good speed with good accuracy. One-handed, PC0. These are essentially jawbreaker-lites.

* Powerglove - A weapon that deals small beat and slash damage. When broken, however, it deals the tiniest fraction of damage, making it useful for grinding Fists if you are so inclined. Can be purchased from Commander Andy's novelty shop.
* Jawbreaker - Knuckle Buster +1. Better damage at a faster speed with more accuracy, and a huge 35% beat crit rate on top. Also one-handed and PC0. Sometimes bought from Pegleg Pete's rotating stock in Botany Bay. The bread-and-butter fists weapon, this is a good choice for most PvP and PvE situations.

* Knuckle Buster - The first fists weapon that many players will encounter. The Knuckle Buster deals beat damage and is very fast, making it useful for the beginning of the game. One handed, making it very useful for fighting and using Nanite Healers early on. Dual wielding Knuckle Busters is a good way to tackle the early game until you can find a better weapon. Check Ammu-Nation for these - Walter frequently has them in stock. For the price, they are EXTREMELY good.
* Edison Gauntlets - High, exotic shock damage, capping at about 5-45, plus 35% base crit, which is Torture-buffable. PC1, two-handed. Craft-only and not too hard to make. Heavy, at 7kg modded. Good in PvP for its exotic damage; not very useful in PvE besides ghostbusting.

* Uru Pounders - A rare weapon that deals Beat damage. Because of it's fairly low damage, requiring two hands for use, and only average speed, it is considered by many to be one of the worst Fists weapons. These problems are compounded by its relative rarity. It will do in a pinch, however, when you have nothing else available.
* Pata Gauntlets - Very high slash damage, capping around 3-48. Fair speed, with a high crit rate of 40% that's Torture-buffable. PC2, two-handed, and heavy at 6kg modded. Craft-only but easy to make. Useful in both PvE and PvP as a defence against PC2 opponents; with high Fists accuracy, fights can be stalled out using parries.

* Ripper Claws - You can get Ripper claws by obtaining the Ripper mutation. Dealing medium amounts of slash damage, Ripper Claws are fairly fast and can cause bleeding, unlike many other fists weapons. These will replace your natural fists, meaning you can use Nanite Healers while fighting with them. Useful in a pinch, and also serving as a blade for butchering corpses, Ripper Claws are mostly obtained by those seeking the path of an Abomination.
Modding
Fists mod pools vary a lot from weapon to weapon.
* Jawbreakers can only take gyro and a shock module. Gyro is important for PvP jawbies, but stock is fine for PvE.
* Knuckle busters have a huge mod pool, but their chief use is cheap PvE, so the only essential mod is a force enhancer.
* Pata also have a wide mod pool. Gyro is good for getting the most out of PC2 parries, and sharpening kit is a pure damage buff. Everything else is optional. Swapping gyro for balanced is also an option for PvE without drugs.

* Zombie Claws - You can get Zombie claws by obtaining the Zombie mutation. A slow weapon that deals slash damage, it is generally a last resort. However, it has the interesting property of giving Zombie Rot to the things it hits, making it an amusing griefing tool. These can be overridden by getting the Zombie mutation and then the Ripper mutation, something many players do.
Racial Synergy
* Chud Claws - You can get Chud claws and fangs by obtaining the Chud mutation.  They are faster than zombie claws, but do the same amount of damage. A slashing weapon, they're not very useful compared to the more high-end fists weapons. On the plus side, they're better than a puny topsider's hands.  Also similar to zombie claws, Chud claws have a chance to inflict whoever they hit with any diseases the Chuds may have. So, you're a chud about to die from AIDS?  No better time to grief.
Abomination - Abom is unpopular, but fists and abom do synergize well. The mutation itself boosts fists by 1, and gives you the scary, radioactive abom claws. Aboms also can't kill themselves with drugs, which means they can buff themselves like crazy. No armor and cheap or free weapons makes your clones very disposable, too.

* Jawbreakers - Jawbreakers are the PvP and high end weapon of choice for many fists users. They deal high amounts of beat damage at a very quick speed, and have a high chance of stunning on any hit, leaving the opponent helpless as you beat the stuffing out of them. They are a one-handed weapon; dual wielding them is recommended for maximum effect. Try Pegleg Pete's to buy them.
Chromemouth - Recently nerfed, now +2 endurance for -2 brains. +1 fists/wrestle in exchange for -2 medic, -1 pilot and more feint trouble if you don't rend is a good trade. You can't zero but that's no big deal. A good choice for the conservative or new fister.

* Telsa Gauntlets - Tesla Gauntlets are a strange weapon among fists. For one, they primarily deal high amounts of electric damage instead of the usual beat. They still have a decently sized beat add-on however. Furthermore, while most fists weapons scale on brawn, Tesla Gauntlets scale on skill in fists, making them a lower-brawn alternative. Unlike many other Fists weapons, Tesla Gauntlets have Parry Class 1, and are somewhat slow in speed. They are craft only, but can be purchased from many players.
Chud - Chud minions spawn with their claws, which scale on fists. Their stats mirror your base stats, so they'll get their claw damage boosted.

* Edison Gauntlets - Edison Gauntlets are an alternative version of Tesla Gauntlets that deal a little more beat damage at the cost of being slower and offering less electric damage, but scale way better from brawn. More electric damage if your brawn is high.
Hideous Freak - Gives good focus and stress immunity, which means you can spam grab, burn and screech in between smacking them around with jawbies. You can also screech and burn while holding a grab!

* Abomination Claws - When a player takes Abomination, their Ripper claws will upgrade into Abomination Claws. These new claws deal even more slash damage, a higher Stab damage add-on, and additional radiation damage. They are fast and deal a good amount of damage, and an abomination will always spawn with them.
Vampire - A stats match made in heaven. The vampire mutation's +4 brawn is a huge boost; +2 to weapon skill on top of big bonus damage. Also includes the +4 endurance that most others have to fill two mutation slots to acquire.

* Chunk of Brick - A slow weapon with good hit that deals low amounts of beat damage. Can be found pretty much anywhere in freedom city or slagtown by using search - you're better off using Knuckle Busters.
Zombie - Solid soaks, which help with your lower fister dodge if you can't set up or land a grab. Also easy access to high, fist-and-wrestle-friendly buff numbers with barf.

* Pata Gauntlets - The only fist weapon that is PC **. They are rather quick and deal huge amounts of slash and some stab. On par with the tesla gauntlet for PVE but not too useful in PVP due to leech-hide being a common armor and soaking the low end of the pata's damage.

Busting someone up in a bar fight is a matter of having the brawn to deliver the hits, and the endurance to take them.

This skill governs the accuracy and damage of your attacks with your fists or fists-related weaponry.

Advantages

 • Speed - Mosts fist weapons are either fast or very fast. Some can be dual-wielded; double jawbreakers can bury opponents in a flurry of punches before they can fight back.
 • Ease of acquisition - Even the most labor-intensive crafting for fists weapons is pretty straightforward. Knuckle Busters and Jawbreakers are your bread and butter, and both are bought for cheap in NPC stores. Jawbreakers don't even need modding to be effective.
 • Ease of Use - If you can wrap your head around the concept of maxing Endurance, Brawn and Reflexes, you can make a good fists class. All three of these stats also have good utility; a newbie playing fists will be able to climb cliffs easily.
 • Mutation Flexibility - Most racial mutations can work in a fists class. See the section on Racials for more details.
 • Excellent Top-end Damage - Jawbreakers deal copious amounts of beat damage in addition to stun, Pata deal more slash than a shiver sword and Tesla/Edison Gauntlets deal large amounts of electric, a very difficult to soak damage type.
 • Accuracy - Most fist weapons have very good to-hit. You'll rarely miss in PvE, and as long as you pick your battles carefully in PvP, you'll smack most non-gunners just fine.
 • Parry Class Coverage - Jawbies and knuckle busters cover PC0, Edisons are PC1, and Pata are PC2. Fists is the only class in the game that can boast a viable endgame weapon in all three parry classes aside from Whips. Fisters can make almost any non-gunner fight on their terms with this flexibility.
 • Grabbing Synergy - Jawbreakers and knuckle busters are one-handed and fisters have good wrestle, which means that fisters can grab people with their off-hand and beat them up while keeping themselves out of danger. This doesn't work with the 2-handed fists weapons.

Disadvantages

 • Weapon Variety - Fists does not have a wide weapon pool. The big three are jawbreakers, edisons and pata, while knuckle busters and abom claws get honorable mention. There are few other weapons, and they (Uru pounders, for instance) are all trash.
 • Damage Options - Fisters have the choice of beat, slash and shock. This is usually enough, but there's no exotic damage types like acid and bleed.
 • Vulnerable to dodge - Fists has no real answer to high dodge outside of gaming parry classes. Hooligan is a nice idea but it's inconsistent, slow and laughably easy to counter. If a fister is not careful to engage a high-dodge opponent with a PC that's the same or lower than theirs, they'll struggle to land a shot unless they can stun and get a grab.
 • Vulnerable to parry - Spears can stall out fisters with their parry bonus, and if you don't bring pata, you'll be stuck trying to dodge their hits with your terrible dodge skill.
 • Damage roulette - Most fists weapons have extremely wide damage ranges, which makes them less consistent than other classes. Top-end damage is fun, but it means little when your jawbreakers bounce off someone's triple leather armor three times in a row.

Notable Weapons

 • Fists - You will always have these unless you are holding an actual weapon (or you have claws). Damage is buffed by taking the Lithodermis mutation.
 • Claws - Ripper claws are uninteresting but the mutation gives +1 fists. Zombie claws are very slow but scale well with brawn. Chud claws can spread diseases the chud is infected with. Sometimes bought from Pegleg Pete's rotating stock in Botany Bay. The bread-and-butter fists weapon, this is a good choice for most PvP and PvE situations.
 • Edison Gauntlets - High, exotic shock damage, capping at about 5-45, plus 35% base crit, which is Torture-buffable. PC1, two-handed. Craft-only and not too hard to make. Heavy, at 7kg modded. Good in PvP for its exotic damage; not very useful in PvE besides ghostbusting.
 • Pata Gauntlets - Very high slash damage, capping around 3-48.

Modding

Fists mod pools vary a lot from weapon to weapon.

 • Jawbreakers can only take gyro and a shock module. Gyro is important for PvP jawbies, but stock is fine for PvE.
 • Knuckle busters have a huge mod pool, but their chief use is cheap PvE, so the only essential mod is a force enhancer.
 • Pata also have a wide mod pool. Gyro is good for getting the most out of PC2 parries, and sharpening kit is a pure damage buff. Everything else is optional. Swapping gyro for balanced is also an option for PvE without drugs.

Racial Synergy

Abomination - Abom is unpopular, but fists and abom do synergize well. The mutation itself boosts fists by 1, and gives you the scary, radioactive abom claws. Aboms also can't kill themselves with drugs, which means they can buff themselves like crazy. No armor and cheap or free weapons makes your clones very disposable, too.

Chud - Chud minions spawn with their claws, which scale on fists. Their stats mirror your base stats, so they'll get their claw damage boosted.

Hideous Freak - Gives good focus and stress immunity, which means you can spam grab, burn and screech in between smacking them around with jawbies. You can also screech and burn while holding a grab!

Vampire - A stats match made in heaven. The vampire mutation's +4 brawn is a huge boost; +2 to weapon skill on top of big bonus damage. Also includes the +4 endurance that most others have to fill two mutation slots to acquire.

Zombie - Solid soaks, which help with your lower fister dodge if you can't set up or land a grab. Also easy access to high, fist-and-wrestle-friendly buff numbers with barf.
