Carrying a lot of stuff on your person can lead to heavy encumbrance (RpgEncumbrance). Putting things in a bag can alleviate this problem.

Bags support the following commands:

get (item) from bag -- get an item out of the container.

put (item) in bag -- put an item back in the container.

open bag -- open the container.

close bag -- close the container.

The most important effect of bags and backpacks is weight reduction -- they effectively reduce the weight of whatever's put in them. You can see this effect by looking at your inventory (CommandInventory) before and after putting something in a bag. This is meant to simulate the ability of bags to make carrying items less bulky.

Some bags are better at this than others. You can find out which bags are best with the appraise command (CommandAppraise).
