How to ata

Submitting an ATA is a simple but often done incorrectly.

You want to put your situation as concisely as possible without skipping on details.

Skipping details means that admins will get mad when they ask you follow up questions.

You want to explain why you believe the situation to be a breach of the rules, refer to the rules and what they say.

Do not simply post a paste of the logs and assume that the admins can instantly know what's going on.

Do not make demands of restitution or retribution to the admins, that shit is totally annoying.

Good Example

I believe I was unfairly killed by Buttlord while in a green zone. I had no challenge against Buttlord at the time and there was no way he could otherwise attack me. He first challenged me, then rescued the NPC I was fighting at the time in order to initiate combat. He then proceeded to loot my body. The abuse in question is the use of the challenge command to allow a rescued attack to get through to him, thus beginning combat without my challenge against him in a green zone.

This example quickly outlines the problem, the offender, and exactly what they did when they committed the abuse. Remember, the admins have access to much more information than a player does, they can tell when a challenge goes out and just about anything else that goes on.

Bad Example

FUCK THIS ASS BASTARD KILLED ME, FUCKING BAN HIM, LIKE SHIT, HERE'S THE LOG OF WHAT HAPPEND AT PASTEBIN.COM/FUUUUUCK

Here nothing is outlined, you give a log that the admins have to sort through, and you make stupid demands of the admins. There is no information to work with here and as a result the *ata will likely be ignored or laughed at.
