Snakeskin is a soak mutation which gives resistance against slash and stab damage. Prequisite for Eelskin. This mutation is not popular, and is generally regarded as having low utility.
Location
Snakeskin is at the very northern end of the Mall, past a ton of hostile zombies, which can be dangerous to low-level and unprepared players. The mutation is on the Men's Department tile, to the west the clothing store.
Effects
This mutation grants:
+2-4 slash resistance
+1-3 stab resistance
Advantages
- Slash/stab soak. These two damage types are the most frequent in PvE by a huge margin.
- Useful to zombies, who do not innately soak either damage type.
Disadvantages
- Superfluous. Slash and stab are very easy to soak, thanks to robust leech-hide armor and top-end exosuit/deathgear combos. Incoming slash and stab is never high enough to warrant taking a mutation to soak it, and unlike High Density, no mutations have innate slash/stab penalties.
Appearance
This mutation adds the following line to a character's description:
She/he has patches of scales on his/her skin.
